Week 5

I did find a peacock feather picture~ this is probably the oddest one as the peacock is wearing a turtle shell.  BUT~ who doesn't have a day when they just wish they could crawl back into their shell for the rest of the day (or week)...

Self- Portrait: word of the year

My word of the year Lisa Leonard Designs necklace.  It reminds me everyday to just TRY!  I can't ask much more than that of myself.

The day after

I captured this picture the morning after a snowfall. As I stood at a changing table ~ I was struck by the beauty of the sun and snow

My little monkey

My little monkey had to climb up on a tote and stand to touch the banjo! My days are filled chasing two monkeys (in two different directions) and on this day- this little monkey took full advantage of it!

Beauty in every room

As Amber said on Weds in her One Brave Story blog~ it's what is IN a home that makes a home. I couldn't agree more! I read years ago that you should have something in every room that you love~ I have adopted that thought.  I TRY to remember the things that make me happy (besides my beautiful toddlers) every day and sometimes its as simple as looking at something beautiful in a room.

This is a picture of my makeup bag.  I start my day with at least seeing my makeup bag~ I may not be able to apply the makeup or do my hair but I can at least smile at the thought :)

why is it?

Why is it that your favorite shirt always seem to be the first shirt to get that stain that won't come out?! This is one of my favorite shirts that I can no longer wear out in public or probably outside my door at this point even to check the mail. One of the many, many perks of being a stay-at-home Mama~ no dress code!  My toddlers have no requirements other than love, play, food and clean diapers. And me? I get to wear my favorite (completely ruined) shirt.

It's the little things

Some of the best things to brighten your day is a find that you forgot you had (not because your desk was so piled high that you couldn't see it anymore) ~wink-wink.

I found this peacock feather canvas picture that I had bought at Target a few years back for my art studio~ and I use the term art studio very loosely. A goal of the today~ I will TRY to hang this canvas photo on my wall so that I can actually see it, that is, until I pile my desk so high that again I won't be able to see it. And then maybe I will find this cool canvas picture and be pleasantly surprised in Jan 2014...

TRY

Jan 1, 2013~~ HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A new beginning, a fresh start, a clean slate.  Every year this is what I think.  I strive for a new goal and I usually last about .2 seconds.  So this year, a new beginning~ I will TRY!  It's all you can really ask of anyone and most importantly~ ask of yourself.

For the last 2 years my fabulous and beautiful friend Amber and I have chosen a word of the year. This is an Ali Edwards One Little Word project. This year with a fresh start~ my fabulous and beautiful friend, Amber and I have also been inspired to post a photo a day. An idea that the creative Elsie had brilliantly challenged her blog readers with.  After much discussion back and forth, Amber and I have put our own spin on the photo project titled Life Lens 2013.  Our spin~ every Sunday we post a self portrait. Depending on time and creativity or inspiration (as we are both busy Moms)- we may write something about the photo or chose simply to post only a photo.  The photos are whatever has caught our eye that day or that we just want to capture in that moment. Feel free to follow along or post a photo of your own with a blog link in our comment section of our blogs.  You can follow Amber's blog~ One Brave Story (fitting as she is the strongest, bravest woman that I know) here

Remember as this New Year begins~ all you can do is TRY and be kind to ourselves this year.

xo,
Amy
